Born in Niigata, Japan, in 1978. Graduated from the Department of Graphic Design at Tama Art University.
With its distinctive comedic style, Matsuyama's work is always filled with various forms of humor. His ability to make full use of his ideas throughout the process of planning, directing and editing, as well as his skills that are applicable to a wide range of production, has earned him the trust of clients from different fields over the years. He has won many international awards, including Bronze Cannes Lions in Film Craft in 2016 for Van Houten Cocoa "Mamametal." In recent years, he also works on music videos and films that are based on music. His other major works include "HONDA NBOX matryosh—CAR," — which won Silver Spikes in 2013 for the Film category and Silver in the Film category at Pusan International Film Festival — "Dragon Quest Square Enix DQ 11," and "Santory Non-aru-kibun web film."
