Hiroki graduated from the University of California Santa Cruz in 2007 where he majored in cinematography. After some freelance work he joined AOI Pro. as part of the International Creative Unit in 2009. To pursue his passion in film directing, Hiroki proved his craft by winning the Grand Prix at the 2009 Cannes Lions for the MOFILM competition, and was later transferred to the planning direction department.
Hiroki is known for his outstanding craftsmanship and distinctive eye in the process of filmmaking. The perfect balance of authenticity and carefully crafted beauty of every scene creates a memorable film. Hiroki is most widely known internationally for the viral phenomenon, Nissin Cup Noodle’s “Samurai in Brazil” and more recently the moving "Motorbike" for Amazon Prime.
