“Birdland”- Governor of Tokyo Award 

The film is about a bedridden old man who spends every day on the bed. One winter night, the old man is looking at the snow falling outside the window and remembers the last time he spent with his late wife.

Reasons for his win were as follows:
The film took on the theme of elderly care head on, without hesitation. The casting and script were brilliant, not to mention, the beauty of the images really stood out.
